I was referred to speak with Debra. During a consultation over the phone, she was initially very helpful and I am glad for the information she gave me, even though she was incredibly rude during the entire discussion. Our entire discussion was less than 5 minutes. As she walked me through some suggestions/steps for me, there was an item or two that I was not entirely clear on. What Debra apparently does not understand is that, for those of us who do not work in the legal field, some things may be a little unclear at times. All I did was repeat some of her directions back to her, to make sure I got all of her info written down correctly. She began making some comments to me, A POTENTIAL CLIENT, like "if you are capable, use some logic and do x y z." I never raised my voice or interrupted her. She placed her hand over the phone and muttered "dear god," thinking I couldn't hear her. All I needed from Debra was a confirmation of a couple pieces of info she gave me. Ten extra seconds. In this day and age, you cannot speak to your (prospective) clients the way Debra spoke to me, because you'll wind up with someone leaving a negative review online. I don't have a vendetta against Debra, I spoke with her for less than 5 minutes and I don't even know her. All I am saying is, if you prefer not to be patronized, talked down to, and belittled by someone who you want to trust and help you, then I would avoid Debra.
This is Debra Reece, and I am responding to a review by someone who says his name was Sam Hausen. When I speak to people on the phone, I note the date, time, and name of the person with whom I talk, and note the gist of our conversation so they don't have to repeat themselves again at a later time. I have had no phone calls from anyone by this name. I have never had anyone say that I am rude to them on the phone. I frequently spend as long as 30 minutes to an hour walking people through ideas of what they can do, even though I know they will not be able to hire me. So if this person thinks I was rude to him, I absolutely apologize; however, while I do my best to be kind to people on the phone (or in person), they sometimes get upset if I don't say what they want to hear. I consider it a privilege to help people, whether they are going to be paying clients or not. So to Mr. Hausen (or whatever your name is), I hope you found the information and received the help you were looking for.
